Het idee voor dit artikel kreeg ik toen ik de volgende posts schreef. Nu nog even de boel uitwerken.
> > > > Homosexuality and masturbation?> Essentially they are no different. > > Masturbation involved a lack of self-control, and sinful focusing on lust > and sex and self-gratification by yourself. First question: what is a sin?? Please define sin for me! Mastrubation is sexual self stimulation. Functions: pleasure, knowing your body, etc. And i don't care if some goat fuckers 1700 years ago, don't not agree with me!! Or did you really mean "involved"?? :-) > Homosexuality involves a lack of self-control, and sinful focusing on lust > and sex and self-gratification with a person of the same sex. Homosexuality: feeling that you want to have your intimate relations with a person of the same sex and acting upon it. Functions: for gay: being able to have a true (not based on lies) relationship with another person. for non-gays: having the greatest parties => Pink saturday/ Gay pride parades, so much fun. Two totally different concepts And if you don't agree => Here are some other "sins": Eating involves a lack of self control, and sinful focussing on lust, food, and self gratification by yourself. Breathing involves a lack of self control, and sinful focussing on live, air and self gratification by yourself. Posting hatemail on alt.atheism by deists involves a lack of self control, and a sinful focussing on the intrucion privacy of others, own self rightnesses and self gratification by yourself. eating+breathing+posting hatemail on alt.ateism equals being gay! Heee, did I just proof that you are gay??? Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! Arjen Klaver

Please define sin for me! > Sin is a concept in Christianity & Judaism. Sin is not an "action" as such, > but it is anything thought or done by a person which contradicts or goes > against the will of God. By Christian theology, sin separates mankind from > God. First, off course I have a problem with Christian theology, so for me the whole subject is different :-). Secondly I always had a problem with people saying that they know what God wants. God can speak for himself. If God in his all powerful way wanted us to behave a certain way he would have made it extremely clear for us (or not at all). I doubt he made it somewhat clear as within the bible and then contradict himself somewhere else. [your opinions on homosexuality in Xtianity removed while it has nothing to do with my reply, now I'm defending my homemade sins of eating, breathing and posting] > > Eating involves a lack of self control, and sinful focussing on lust, > > food, and self gratification by yourself. You said: "Although masturbation is not mentioned in the bible, the concepts of self-gratification is mentioned, as is controlling your physical desires." Thus eating is a sin. I eat only when I'm hungry, then I have a physical desire for food, thus therefore I'm sinful. (All in true Xtian tradition, this rant ;-)) Eating when you're not hungry is sometimes called gluttony, which you agree is a sin. > In fact, eating itself is not a sin. Gluttony, in some respects, is a sin > according to Christian theology, as a concept in Christianity is that our > body is a temple, and deserves respect, and that we should live a healthy > lifestyle, and shouldn't waste ourselves away with unhealthy diet and > lifestyle. Do you now what gods considered when he said the body is a temple. This is perfectly easy to understand. In ancient times the temples were resting places for the gods, the sacred parts should be left alone at all times. By eating you disturb the rest in your temple. Try not eating for a day or 4, then you would understand it totally, I've done it, so I can tell from experience. Your body will not protest anymore after a day or 2. You will feel fit. But didn't Luke 4:2 say: "Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.". It means that you have to hunger yourself to a point you almost can't live anymore (40 days) and then you eat. So you keep the sins to a minimum, the same as with sex and marriage, only sex when wife is fertile. > and one of the central > concepts of Christian theology, communion, involves the digestion of > food/drink. Sex before marriage is bad, but after the marriage is becomes ok. Thus eating before the commune is bad. Still my arguments stands, (knowing it is total crap) > > Breathing involves a lack of self control, and sinful focussing on > > live, air and self gratification by yourself. > > Well, you may call it a sin......the rest of us call it suicide (again, a > "sin"). Breathing will kill you, I did not know what, must be some kind of Xtian science :-). Still this sins stands firm. > > Posting hatemail on alt.atheism by deists involves a lack of self > > control, and a sinful focussing on the intrusion privacy of others, > > own self rightnesses and self gratification by yourself. > > In fact, the initiator of this thread, David Hass, while i assume is a > resident on alt.atheism, made a good point when he said "Mature > contemplative humans should be able to handle this topic without getting all > bent out of shape". Being able to do something and doing something are two different things. And in my point of view he is started bending things out of shape by implying that homosexuality is exactly the same as masturbation. (the second I saw the threat I knew this, seen this discussion already far too many times!). This is a total insult towards gays and lesbians, you are saying that they cannot have a full relation. I oppose that view by riducalazing your answer. (still my sin stands firm) > I have never posted anything as an act of hate towards > atheïsts. By definition theists and atheïsts are diametrically opposed No we don't only STRONG atheïst are directly opposing deist. Weak atheïst just don't care, and agnostics are desperately waiting for a conclusive answer > but i would hope we could at least discuss our differences, as David has > hoped. Yes I'm discussing it also, but I'm using humour, again a sin (Pro 14:13, Ecc 2:2, Ecc 7:3, Ecc 7:6, Jam 4:9) > Yes, i am a Christian, and i hold to the beliefs as stated in the > bible, so when a person asks a question about masturbation and > homosexuality, i'll state what i believe. I also believe that pre-marital > sex and infidelity are also "sin", so i am in no way singling out > homosexuals. Hating more types doesn't make you less of a fascist (I know this is the wrong word, but I'm Dutch and I'm not an English major, as you already have noticed, I mean something in the lines of discrimination) > The Christian concept (in most cases) is that sexual > satisfaction was designed as a sign of the spiritual bonding between husband > and wife. I know that not all people agree with that, and i'm not saying > people don't have a right to disagree with me. Sex is only to fertilize the woman, read your bible. (The opinion above is not the real opinion of the writer, again sarcasm, my favourite sin) > > eating+breathing+posting hatemail on alt.ateism equals being gay! > > Heee, did I just proof that you are gay??? > > Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! > > Well, i'm glad your nonsensical argument makes you happy. Again sarcasm used in my argument. I ridiculed your argument, cause it is only valid for a small percentage of people in the world, and a small percentage of the Xtian's. It has no place in alt.atheism. They only thing you are doing is insulting homosexuals. A gay person just comes here to read something about atheism and then he is being attacked by a Xtian. I (a self proclaimed minion of alt.atheism) want to eliminate this behavour in alt.atheism. Find another newsgroup for this kind of homo bashing, in alt.iliketoreadthebibleasliterallyaspossible.andmyfavouritebookisdeuteronomium (If you rape a virgin, you get to keep her) I abused your own logic to get to that point. And in this thread i'm abusing biblical texts. Only. who says I'm abusing them, maybe I have found the true meaning of the bible, only god can tell. (even more sarcasm) I'm happy I made you glad, Now there is a happy person and a glad person, Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! Arjen Klaver
